Using a rank-tracking tool gives you actionable info on your website’s rank on various search engines.

It provides the most current data and detailed Google My Business tracking + tons of other features.
In 2022, ProRankTracker is getting a big update, and it’s way more than just a facelift.
It’s going to rock your world.
In this article, we’re covering ALL of the updated features to show you how the best rank-tracking app is about to get even better.
We’ll cover:

Key Updates for 2022
Before we dive into all ProRankTracker’s features and how they can improve your rank, let’s take a look at a few of the most significant updates.
Throughout this article, we’ll walk you through updates and how to use ProRankTracker’s new features.
Updated UI
The first thing you’ll notice when you log into ProRankTracker is the updated user interface.
It’s sleeker, faster, and provides more information than before.
The left-hand column holds a collapsible navigation menu.
From the drop-down menu, you can easily navigate to each of ProRankTracker’s primary features.
After clicking your chosen menu item on the left, the right side of the screen displays an easy-to-understand graphic with your website’s current rank data.
One of the most significant time-saving features of the update is the new general search tool and quick view menu.
Using the search bar at the top of the page allows you to quickly search reports, URLs, and terms without navigating through the app.
Similarly, the quick view menu helps you quickly scan:
- URLs
- Groups
- Tags
- Filters
- Terms
- Reports
The simplicity of the new UI makes it a breeze to use.
You’ll never have to click through a mind-numbing amount of menus to find the info you need.
Tracking Updates
Some of the most substantial updates to ProRankTracker are the updates to the tracking features.
You can now track Amazon Standard Identification Numbers (ASINs), which means you can track how well your product ranks for specific search terms on Amazon’s SERP.
Location tracking is now more specific.
You can add multiple locations to your tracking to keep tabs on how your website ranks on various sites.
Finally, you can track when your search result is the featured snippet on Google.
The coveted featured snippet position receives more clicks than any other position, so nabbing that spot is a jewel in your crown that must be monitored.
Notifications and Reports
ProRankTracker’s report feature is now more robust.
You can automate and schedule any of your reports.
If you’re an SEO manager, automating and scheduling reports makes it easier and faster to get those reports into your clients’ inboxes.
You can now also set notifications to be triggered by ranking changes (it’s vital to know asap about any position drops or jumps).
Receiving instant notifications when changes occur to your ranks is a huge advantage to a successful SEO strategy.
Rankings
The Rankings tab on ProRankTracker holds 5 information screens:
- Dashboard
- URL View
- Term View
- Daily View
- Full SERPs
Each of these 5 pages helps you understand your rank in a different way, and each provides visual displays of pertinent data with valuable graphics and charts.
Dashboard
The dashboard serves as the command center for your overall rank health.
You can quickly get this essential information:
- Your current ranks
- A broad overview of any historical changes
- A summary of the most significant changes over the last 24 hours
The dashboard also displays how many URLs and terms are being tracked.
Using the graphs and charts on the dashboard, you can quickly see how your ranks are performing + any changes that have occurred.
URL View
The URL view goes into more detail about each of your URLs.
The top of the page shows you a general idea of your URL rankings as well as how many URLs you’re tracking, but things get more interesting as you scroll.
For each URL you track with ProRankTracker, the URL view shows you how that rank has changed for particular search terms over a time span of:
- 24 hours
- A week
- A month
To pack more info into the page, ProRankTracker uses a color-coded system of symbols.
You can get more details by hovering over each of the icons pictured below or scroll to the bottom of the page and check out the key.
Term View
The Term View page looks similar to the URL View page — it shows how your pages are ranking based on search terms.
Using ProRankTracker, you can see your ranking progress for each search term you’ve targeted.
One of the features available on the Term View page is that ProRankTracker can track your ranks across all of the major search engines.
Pretty cool.
It displays all the info for your targeted search terms.
If you’re tracking hundreds of search terms, the filter feature will be MAJOR for you.
You can use the filter to find particular search terms, cutting down on the time you spend checking your ranks.
Daily View
The Daily View shows a day-by-day chart and table of each URL that you’re tracking.
Using the options menu, you can choose to show only the charts, only the tables, or both.
You can also change table settings, for example, how many days are included in the table.
Finally, you can add notes next to each day.
This is a great place to document any changes that you make to improve your rank, making notes about what improved your position and what hurt it, in addition to any other helpful info.
Full SERPs
To check the entire SERP for a specific term, you would typically have to search it using a search engine to browse each page ranking for that term.
ProRankTracker simplifies this process by showing you a detailed look at the SERP for each URL and term you’re tracking.
The top bar allows you to choose the URL, search term, and date range you’d like to inspect.
A list below will appear with all the ranking pages for that search term.
In addition to viewing their ranks, you can also get detailed historical data about how each of your competitors’ pages’ ranks jumped or dropped.
Finally, you can quickly click a link to look at your competitors’ pages and their background info on Whois.
Reports
The Reports tab has been condensed into a single page, now called the “Reports Center.”
While ProRank Tracker’s reports have been consolidated in the Reports Center (uber easy to use), their functionality has expanded.
Reports Center
The Reports Center houses various types of reports and notifications:
- Overview reports
- Historical progress reports
- Ranking comparison reports
- Notifications
- Benchmark reports
- “Rankings” Section Reports
Within each of these report types, there are multiple report options.
ProRankTracker offers 22 different fully customizable reports.
You read that right, 22!
Once you choose a report type, you’ll be able to view all reports of that type you’ve previously sent and/or schedule a new report.
Scheduling daily, weekly, and monthly reports keeps you up-to-date on your ranks without needing to monitor constantly.
It’s also a great way to keep your clients in the know without manually creating and sending reports.
Manage
The “Manage” tab has replaced the “URLs and Terms” tab.
Within the Manage tab, you’ll be able to edit extensively:
- Tracked URLs
- URL Groups
- Tags
- Filters
URLs
The URL manager provides detailed information about all URLs you’re currently tracking, including:
- When the URL was added
- How many terms are being tracked for that URL
- What groups the URL belongs to (we’ll talk about groups next)
In addition, you can jump straight to the rankings for each URL or delete it by hovering over it in the URL manager.
However, the URL manager’s star-of-the-show feature is the URL editor.
To access the editor, hover over the term and click “Edit.”
You can add Google My Business info for the URL within the editor — you can now add multiple GMB names to the same URL.
The editor also allows you to change the tracking type, terms, search engine, and URL tags.
You can track:
- Organic desktop searches
- Organic local
- Mobile
- Local Finder
- Snack Pack
- YouTube
- Google Videos
- Amazon
The URL editor is powerful and can completely change the way you track your URLs.
Groups
Adding URLs to groups is a great way to keep all of your URLs organized.
Once you create a group, you can then quickly jump to the URL view for that group by clicking on the link icon under “View.”
Using groups speeds up your workflow when you find yourself frequently checking the same URLs.
Tags
In addition to splitting your URLs into groups, you can also add tags to specific URLs and search terms.
Groups only include URLs, but tags are applied to specific search terms, helping you stay organized and efficient on ProRankTracker.
Adding tags to your terms is easy.
- Name the tag and select a color.
- Choose the URLs to include in the tag.
- Choose your preferred terms from the list of terms currently tracked for selected URLs.
You can also tag from the URL View quicker:
For cross URLs simply check your chosen terms, and from the “Bulk Actions” Menu, click “Tag Terms”, select a tag and color, hit “Save” and you’re done.
To tag terms from the same URL, check the terms and click the tag icon at the bottom of the table.
Using tags is the fastest way to analyze specific terms without having to locate them every time.
Saved Filters
If you regularly use search filters on the URL view page, the Saved Filters page will save you a ton of time.
Adding filters to your URL results exponentially increase ProRankTracker’s usefulness.
However, it can be time-consuming to create filters — especially if you repeatedly make the same filters.
There are so many filtering options, and it can take some time to create the exact filter you want.
To speed it up, create the filter in the Saved Filters page, then name it and save it — you’ll have instant access to that filter whenever you need it.
You can make your filters broad or granular, even specifying a filter down to exact URLs and terms.
The new ProRankTracker update also allows you to sort your filters by filtering parameters, which helps you quickly sift through your filters as you create more.
Trash
Have you ever deleted something, then instantly remembered that you still needed it?
Aww, snap!
With the Trash page on ProRankTracker, you never again have to kick yourself for accidentally deleting something (we’ve all done it).
Instead, hop over to Trash and recover any items that you still want.
You’ve got the same powerful search tools at your fingertips in the trash as on other pages.
The Trash can hold 6 times your account size (account size is based on your chosen plan), but you can empty it at any time.
Just keep in mind, emptying the trash makes all trash items unrecoverable.
Add to Track
The “Add to Track” tab lets you specify new URLs and keywords to track — there are 2 ways to add new tracking items:
- Add Wizard
- Advanced Add
Add Wizard
If you just want to add a single URL, the Add Wizard is your best option — it makes the process of adding URLs and keywords simple.
First, type the URL you want to track, then specify any keywords you’d like to track for that URL.
You can also add it to any groups or tags you’ve already created.
Next, choose where you want to track that URL — you can choose to track Android and iPhone results for Google or track desktop results on the following search engines:
- Yahoo!
- Bing
- YouTube
- Amazon
Finally, you can choose to track the URL on Google Snack Pack and Local Finder as well and if you’re itching to get noticed by local traffic, tracking your Snack Pack and Local Finder rank is your best bet.
If you choose to track your ranking in the Snack Pack, ProRankTracker will also prompt you to enter your GMB information.
*BONUS* ProRankTracker now supports tracking multiple GMBs and locations for the same URL.
Advanced Add
Advanced Add gives you more control over the tracking parameters of new URLs, and more importantly, it allows you to bulk add and track specific Amazon ASINs.
Tracking ASINs gives you info on how your Amazon listings are ranking.
If your product appears on multiple Amazon sites (like Amazon AU and Amazon CA) with the same ASIN, it’s easy to track all of them simultaneously.
The Bulk Add tool simplifies the process of adding many URLs and terms to your tracking list at once.
Just download the import file, fill it out, and drop it onto the page.
Easy like Sunday morning.
Tools
The Tools tab is dedicated to advanced tools that’ll help you create a more comprehensive tracking strategy.
Rankings Discovery
If you’re unsure which terms you should be tracking for your URLs, you’ll love the Rankings Discovery tool.
To use the Rankings Discovery tool, select one of the URLs you’re tracking, and the tool will pull up a list of terms the URL ranks for.
Find the terms you want to track, select them, and click “Add Terms.”
Keyword Suggestions
If your pages aren’t getting the traffic you’d hoped, you might not be targeting the right keywords.
The Keyword Suggestions tool will analyze your current keywords and give you suggestions for other terms you could target.
You can easily select new keywords and start tracking them right from the Keyword Suggestions page.
