Should you PAY for your SERP tracker?
Having a free account with any software tool is great—it gives you the option to test run the tool without actually paying money. However, after getting a taste and figuring out if it’s right for you comes the moment to decide if you actually want to PAY for it to get more power and extended options. The short answer to that is YES, even if you’re doing just basic SEO, you should, and I will explain why shortly. As always, I will be focusing on PRT’s features, but as I’m making a general case about the professional usage of SERP trackers as a whole, I’m sure you can figure out the proper equivalents with the tool you’re currently using or giving a test run to.
Choosing the Enterprise level of PRT for example can be highly beneficial to your business and SEO strategy. Let me quickly list just 6 of those benefits for you:
Personal account manager – Several tools (including ours) offer this feature as part of a paid plan. Getting access to your very own personal account manager is a neat option, as it means you’ll have your own personal support available to you directly without the need to go through chats or submitting support tickets. An account manager can help you set up and arrange a beautifully organized account with order and clarity, and they can also answer any in-depth questions you might have. An account manager can be your close guide and advisor through the system and be with you every step of the way until you master the system. Usually people who try this option say they never want to go back to the regular support tickets and chat options.
Bigger keywords quota – The key element of getting a paid account with any tool is the (sometimes dramatic) increase in keyword quota. This essentially allows you to get some much-needed breathing room and discover the maximum potential of your SEO campaign. In the previous article, we discussed how even a small and humble SEO campaign might require you to keep track of as many as 20 keywords on 5 different fronts, adding up to 100 terms that need tracking. The reality is that even the smallest website being promoted organically needs to keep track of keywords that are a combination of short, medium, and long tails (read more about that here). Ideally, every keyword rank should be composed of 5 elements: a google.com rank to show the general progress, a local rank most relevant to the vicinity of your business, a mobile rank to show your progress on the mobile search market, and Yahoo! and Bing ranks to get to that additional 33% of potential customers. (One-third of all internet searches are done via Yahoo! and Bing. Read about it here.) By checking those keywords on all fronts, you will finally be getting a clear picture. Also, if you stop limiting yourself, you can experiment and expand the amount of keywords you can track, and you will always have room to grow in case you get a new client or your current one wants to expand.

This account manager strictly points a finger while breaking the fourth wall because he wants to help you get the best experience possible with your SERP tracker
White label – White label services are a paid option among all tools in the market, and rightfully so, as the tool essentially unlocks its own logo and details and allows you to place YOUR logo and company information on the reports you send your clients and colleagues. Your brand matters, and seeing reports with your details on them will make you look like the professional you are. We made an article about the importance of branding your SEO reports a while back, so be sure to check it out if you haven’t already:
The power of Branding your SEO rankings reports with your logo
Sub accounts – This is a cool option some tools offer with their paid plans. With PRT, you can create sub-accounts with limited access (password and username included) that you control and set limits for, and you can brand those PRT accounts with your logo instead of ours. This option will really help you delegate tasks to your team. If you want to, you can even set up reports to truly impress your customers by making PRT look like it’s YOUR system. Setting up sub-accounts is often very simple and a great feature that in most cases justifies the paid account.
Rank updates on demand – This one is rare, and unfortunately so, since many SEO campaigns rely on strategic cues and signals that require more than one update per day. If your tool provides more than a single rank update per day, that’s great, but if not then you can try PRT, as we offer up to 3 updates on demand with our paid plans. By getting the freshest rank data available, you can fine tune your SEO strategy to the optimum resolutions, discover instant triggers that make your ranks go up and down, and much more. It’s slightly more advanced as far as SEO lore goes, but this can be an amazing strategic gauge if used correctly. Some of our biggest clients rate this feature to be as important as accuracy.
MyRanks mobile app – This one is exclusive to PRT but is worth the honorable mention nonetheless. This feature has been designed to wow your clients and give you a ton of future referrals. MyRanks mobile app is a white label app branded with your logo and details. Your clients can download it to their mobile phone and get live updates on the progress of their ranks from the convenience of their phone. Set up their MyRanks account by defining a user name and password, and the data they see will be limited to whatever you choose for that account.
The beauty of a paid professional account including an account manager is that you can fully master whatever system you’re using, get the best results from it, and see how far it can benefit your SEO strategy and business.
As for us, we have very dedicated account managers, and our paid plans are strictly SEO-centered with no bloated, unnecessary, or rarely-used features. If you’re currently using another tool and want to migrate to PRT, you can even have us set up the account for you and simply sit back and enjoy a polished gem with all your data already installed into our system.
New to PRT? You can start by getting a free account and move up from there!
